ABOUT THE SHOW

A heartwarming musical with a charming cast of characters, The Sound of Music will be one of your favorite things, too! Maria, a novitiate (“nun in training”), is sent from a nearby convent to act as governess to the seven children of widowed Austrian aristocrat, Captain von Trapp. She soon wins the hearts of the children and their father. With the impending Nazi occupation of Austria, the family barely escapes to the safety of Switzerland. The delightful and inspiring story of the Trapp Family Singers, The Sound of Music features a glorious score by Rodgers and Hammerstein including “Do Re Mi,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” "Edelweiss,” “Maria,” “My Favorite Things” and of course the title song, “The Sound of Music.”

Join us for Broadway Family Night! For the Friday, Aug. 20, 8 p.m. performance, when you purchase a regularly priced adult ticket you receive a FREE child's ticket (12 and under). Valid in all price levels. Not available online. There will be also be pre-show family friendly activities on Aug. 20.
